ERKLÆRING

Det er med dyb bekymring vi følger den voksende trussel om en ny amerikansk krig – denne gang mod Irans folk.

Medierne er fyldt med rapporter om en påstået atomtrussel fra Iran og det angivelig behov for, at USA griber til militær magt. Disse rapporter minder om historierne om 'Masseødelæggelsesvåben', som blev udbredt i månederne op til krigen mod Irak.

I forspillet op til den illegale invasion af Irak hævdede Bush-administrationen, at Irak besad massive lagre af masseødelæggelsesvåben, og at det var i stand til at indlede et angreb – med atom-, kemiske og biologiske våben – på USA i løbet af 45 minutter.

Præsident Bush sagde, at USA måtte angribe med det samme og ikke kunne ”vente på det endelige bevis – den rygende pistol – som ville komme i form af en paddehattesky.” Nu ved vi alle, at denne propagandakampagne var rent opspind, beregnet på at retfærdiggøre en aggressionskrig.

Nu ser vi rapporter, der kun ligner disse alt for godt, som fabrikeres for at retfærdiggøre militær aktion mod Irans folk. At bringe Iran op i FN's sikkerhedsråd er et forspil til ensidig, unilateral aktion. Nøjagtig som i tilfældet med Irak, kan ingen af den amerikanske regerings påstande tåle en fordomsfri efterprøvning. Iran har ladet sig underkaste de mest nærgående og ydmygende inspektioner, langt ud over hvad der kræves af Ikke-Spredningsaftalen om Atomvåben (NPT). Ingen af inspektionerne fandt noget bevis på, at Iran er ved at udvikle et atomvåbenprogram.

Der er kun én regering, som har anvendt atomvåben mod civilbefolkninger, og denne nation har også klodens største lagre af masseødelæggelsesvåben. Farligst og helt utroligt er det, at den netop nu udvikler en ny generation af taktiske atomvåben. Dette land er naturligvis De Forenede Stater. Bør enhver diskussion om farerne fra atomvåben ikke inddrage de våben, Pentagon har lagret, og USA's historie med aggression og invasioner?

Iran har lidt meget under USA's tryk. Vi husker, at USA omstyrtede den demokratisk valgte regering under Dr. M. Mossadegh og genindsatte Shah'en på Påfugletronen – ”CIA's stolteste bedrift”. I 25 år regerede Shah'en Iran med en jernnæve til gavn for amerikanske olieselskaber, før det iranske folk, i millionmasser, væltede hans tyranni med forfærdelige omkostninger i menneskeliv. I de sidste 27 år har amerikanske sanktioner hæmmet Irans ret til at udvikle sig og påført befolkningen store lidelser.

Det er afgørende, at alle stemmer imod ødelæggelserne ved en ny krig i Mellemøsten lyder nu. Vi opfordrer til et øjeblikkeligt stop for Washingtons kampagne af sanktioner, fjendtlighed og løgn mod Irans folk. Vi vender os mod enhver ny aggression fra USA mod Iran, Vi har brug for midler til at dække menneskelige behov, ikke til endeløse imperie-krige.
